“Anatomy” Of A Consult

When a patient has been identified with the onset of acute neurological symptoms, a Patronus consult follows this process:


Your emergency department staff initiates a consult with Patronus using our web-based portal from any mobile device or workstation. Patronus also provides telephone access for initiating a consult, and in many cases, we are working closely with clients to extend notification access into the field through emergency medical services and other time-saving protocols.


Once activated, our neurologists –  not a call center or staging clinician – respond in under four minutes on average.


The Patronus neurologist engages with your team, the patient and the patient’s family, and proceeds to a full consultation. Our neurologist then examines the patient using the camera and reviews imaging and advanced imaging in real time.


Upon completion of the consult, the Patronus neurologist provides the recommended course of action and remains with the case until its conclusion. Our neurologists are incented to follow the case to completion and follow-up regardless of the acuity. So whether it’s a simple five-minute phone consult or full intervention and transfer, you can be confident that our team will be there every step of the way.


We provide a fully documented consult to your staff at the conclusion of each case in a timely manner.
